Artist Feedback from our 2009 Launch
“Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed today. It was a really lovely event – the atmosphere was lovely … very relaxed and friendly. I was glad to be part of it”
“Great event … great kids … great variety of artists – stimulating for both young and old. Congratulations from me to all concerned in the organisation”
“I thought the day went very well, and we all enjoyed ourselves and there was a lot of interest in our crafts which is always a bonus. It is such a worry that these skills will die out quite soon because there are not enough interested young people to pass them on to. So thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to take part.”
Audience Feedback from Cowslip Sunday 2010 …
“Congratulations on a wonderful event! Well done to everyone who took part and helped behind the scenes. Cowslip Sunday was enjoyed by so many – a real community piece to be built on and continued as part of Nottinghamshire’s heritage and history. It must be an annual event.”
“Following the Cowslip Sunday revival in Lambley I have to say what a fabulous event this turned out to be! It was fantastic to see so many people turn up to participate in the procession through the village and the play that followed was both entertaining and remarkably informative! As a resident it was really great to get a sense of the history of Lambley and the children were able to enjoy the spectacle of the show. There is great potential to grow the Lambley Arts Festival into a widely anticipated festival that will draw in the crowds and really put Lambley on the map. Very well done everyone who took part in this great event.”
“I was extremely impressed that all those younger and older people in the community used this as a valuable way of both preserving their heritage and becoming part of a society that values the past sufficiently to enhance and sustain their bond with their life in the village today. It is without doubt vital to our community and most importantly our children that opportunities like this can continue. You have shown us that many many people enrich their lives with the arts.”
“You managed to capture a sense of continuity with the past in the form of celebration, without it feeling contrived or crass in any way; it felt very much like a living tradition ‘ad continuum’. We look forward to next year.”
“I just wanted to get in touch to say that I thought Sunday’s activities were absolutely brilliant. The Cowslip Tales performance was excellent – amusing, lively and fully entertaining”
