Catfoot Theatre Company
The Lambley Jack Folk Play
Through the involvement of David Longford as Chair of Lambley Arts Festival, Catfoot has been heavily involved in producing the two Lambley Jack community plays, as part of Lambley’s folk revival of Cowslip Sunday.
Cowslip Sunday 2010 saw LAMBLEY JACK’S COWSLIP TALES, a potted potty history of Lambley village and its association with cowslips, whilst 2011 saw LAMBLEY JACK AND THE GIANT OF PLOUGHMAN WOOD, a springtime Pantomime featuring fairies, giants, Flamstead the cow and loads of audience participation.
Both shows took place on an open-air stage overlooking the Lambley Dumbles and were written and directed by David Longford.
Both productions were very well received and so look out for next year’s Lambley Jack show on Sunday 6 May 2012.
